Granddaddy's Farm

After seeing a super cute idea on Pinterest, Michael, Ryder, and I made a fall bucket list.  I'm going to take pictures as we check off each item and put it into a book.  Here is the original idea.  Today, we got 2 items marked off the list- visiting a pumpkin patch and going on a hayride.  We took Ryder to Granddaddy's farm.  Since he really can't play or do anything, it was pretty much a giant photo op! I can't wait till he is old enough (and has siblings) to participate in all the other activities and actually enjoy and look forward to going there. Here are a few of my favorite pictures:

Halloween Season Begins

I LOVE Halloween, so for me, the holiday season really does start in October.  I can't believe it's Ryder's first holiday season!  Here are pictures of some decorations we have around the house and one pair of Ryder's Halloween pajamas.

Ryder's First Day in Sunday School

I simply can't believe how quickly time is flying by.  Two weeks ago Ryder went to his own Sunday school class for the first time....tear.  He wasn't the happiest when we first put him down.
Talk about breaking a mother's heart.  I was so afraid all the other kids were going to start crying as well, but they all remained calm.  Poor Colby and Wyatt!  I guess they've seen it a time or two before.  He calm down pretty quickly, but was never his sweet little happy self completely.  But they said he did great!  He loves singing and that's what they mostly do so I figured he would be okay.  Let's face it, the whole ordeal was probably a lot harder on me than it was on him!

VA-CA Day 6- Enter my dream job!

Late Monday afternoon, we headed up to Asheville, North Carolina.  We stayed at a hotel right next to a cozy little downtown area.  I got on Trip Advisor to find a place to visit for brunch Tuesday morning.  And that's when it happened.  I found a little place called Books and Breadboard, which may sound like a strange name, but as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to visit.  You see, back in my head, this little place was my dream come to life.  A bookstore and a restaurant in one.  Food and books, in case you haven't already noticed, are two of my favorite things!  Even better than the idea of such a shop was this actual store.  It is like a house.  Each room is decorated and contains books to match that theme.  For example we sat in the sun-room, aka the garden room.  It had a fountain, an iron table and chairs, some bird decor, and of course, gardening books!  My favorite room was the children's play room.  It was decorated with bright colors and puppets and places for kids to sit including a closet turned into a book nook!  Oh and I almost forgot about the food!  I had a DELICIOUS bacon, egg, and cheese croissant with fruit, and the fruit wasn't an orange slice and a few grapes.  The presentation was also delightful.  While we were there I picked up a couple of novels, Michael got a gardening book, and we got two board books for Ryder.  It was a perfect morning!
